Abstract:There have been some interesting attempts to derive the equilibrium probability distribution of possible states of queueing systems by using the maximum entropy principle. In particular, shore introduced an entropy model for certain queueing systems. In this article an entropoly model for the derivation of the probability distribution of the equilibrium state for the M/M/s queueing system has been successfully presented. By analysing the probability distribution for the M/M/s(N) and M/M/s(s) queueing systems based on the proposed entropy model, the equilibrium state for M/M/s type queueing systems can be interpreted as the maximum entropy state.
