Abstract:The increasing utilization of foreign policy export controls generated considerable conflicts with American multinational corporations /MNCs/. The MNCs-lobby has initiated political struggle against the use of trade weapon. This weapon threatens their important objectives such as free trade, corporate autonomy,neutrality and contract sanctity. Primary instances of foreign policy controls,1976-1986, against the Soviet Union,Uganda,Iran, Libya,Rhodesia,South Africa,Nicaragua and their significant negative impact upon American corporate interests. The internationalization of production by the MNCs has reduced the ability of the Executive Branch to harness trade to diplomatic purposes.
