Abstract: | The similarities among the four Southern European (here as: S.E.) EU Member States, that's Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain, with respect to labour market characteristics and to the institutional (here as: inst.) arrangements affecting labour supply, utilization and demand confirm the concept of a distinctive S.E. employment model. During the past 20 years, national differences in the pace and content of inst. change have increased diversity within the model, eroding some of its components. Yet, hey have not destroyed its unity and distinctiveness. |
