Abstract: | The majority of business and management schools have not yet recognized the extent to which environmental issues significantly affect businesses. A brief history of business and the environment in the USA is reviewed. Currently, environmental issues have become so dominant that world-class corporations are finding ways to integrate environmental planning into their business strategies. The lack of responsiveness on the part of most business schools is examined. Some recent developments in this field are described and analyzed. A number of current efforts to incorporate environmental considerations into the business school curriculum are discussed and suggestions about the future advancement are made. |
