Abstract:With the contraction of the financial service industries and the prospect of a recession, today's business school grads in the USA will face fewer opportunities and greater challenges than their counterparts did in the last decade. With this in mind, commencement addresses delivered in the spring of 1990 at the nation's top business schools are published. In four speeches, which can be considered as a representative sample, one can read what issues and themes prominent leaders in business and academia believed important enough to impart to graduates.
