Abstract:By comparing the productivity of individuals who have benefited from a program to a productivity of similar individuals who have not, nutrition programs may be evaluated. A model of the demand for several forms of human capital may be required to perform such an evaluation: how public agencies and private firms work with households to produce human capital and how these investments increase the productivity of individuals. Policymakers would be provided with a tool for stimulating the private and social returns to nutrition, by estimating an integrated wage function with endogenous human capital.
