| Abstract: | This article discusses top management diversity as a positive force for strategic innovation and expands existing arguments to the case of entering new geographic areas. The authors explore ceses when diversity may lead to formulation of subgroups within teams hampering communication and the propensity to enter new geographic areas. Also a time variable is added to see how relationships change over the years, as team memebers intaract. The study uses 2,159 expansions of 25 companies over a period of more than three decades. |
