Abstract: | The progressive reform of foreign trade system in China follows the course, that is, breaking monopoly in the business of foreign trade, changing the activities of foreign trade gradually from being controlled mainly by planning to being regulated by market, devaluing RMB and reforming exchange rate, adjusting down ward tariff and reducing non-tariff. Starting from 1985, the export of machinery and electronic products has grown gradually. It grew from US$ 11.09 billion in 1990 to US$ 43.86 billion in 1995 (accounting for 29.5% of the total). It is influenced by three factors, that is, the improved quality of domestic machinery and electronic products, rapid growth of the export of such products produced by foreign-funded enterprises and the governments' policies stimulating the export of machinery and electronic products |
