| Abstract: | Economic activity in the leading industrialised countries remains depressed. In a number of developing countries, particularly in Asia, though, growth rates are currently high. While North America has been showing signs of recovery since the middle of last year, Europe remains locked in recession, and even the Japanese economy has experienced stagnation for almost a year now. This global growth weakness is affecting demand on capital markets, where long-term interest rates have fallen further since the start of the year. |
