Abstract:The soft drinks market in Europe is overviewed, particularly that of France , Italy, Spain, the UK and West Germany. It includes all carbonated and still soft drinks, and excludes mineral waters and true fruit juices. The market covers colas, lemonades, carbonated fruit drinks, tonics, bitters and still fruit drinks. Key trends are: future growth prospects are greatest in France and Italy, colas dominate sales, low-calorie/diet soft drinks are making rapid sales gains, etc. The five markets are shown in several diagrams and tables. The pan-European market comparison data are shown for 16 countries. The major soft drink manufacturer companies are listed and their market shares are analyzed. An outlook to 1994 is given.
