Abstract:The authors examined the reasoning and evidence behind the two assertions used to support organizational level interventions. Assertion 1 was that organizational stress is the cause of undesirable employee states and behaviors, and 2 that organizational interventions work and that they will have uniformly positive effects. The results indicated that assertion 2 could not be supported as their effectiveness was limited, and uniformly positive effects were not found.
