Abstract: | The paper considers a situation at the IPO market in 1999 and 2000. It states that the hot IPO market during that period did its part to keep the money flowing, indirectly pumping up the coffers of companies that supplied these newbies. According to the author opinion, the impact of the IPO market slowdown on the operating results of existing public companies is far from over. Of the 62 companies that withdrew the IPO filings from registration in the fourth quarter, more than two-thirds, or 41, are telecommunications-related. The article includes the following tables and charts: 1) IPO 100 top gainers, 2) IPO 100 top losers, 3) IPO 100 underwriter ratings, 4) IPO 100 high-tech IPOS. |
