| Abstract: | Assuming that the rate of growth of GNP is 8.5 percent, consumption of power will total 1.42 billion tons of coat by 2000. The annual rate of growth of power will be 3.67 percent, the elasticity coefficient of power consumption 0.43, and the annual rate of growth of coal consumption 2.62 percent. China's coal production is expected to reach 1.4 billion tons by 2000, and 1.8 billion by 2010. 170.5 million more tons of coal will be produced in 2000 than 1994, a 13.9 percent increase. The annual average growth will be 28.41 million tons with an annual growth rate of 2.19 percent. |
