Abstract: | In this paper the author explains how a manager can assess with reasonable certainty whether the forecasted schedule is, in fact, matching the day's customer demand, touches on some of the actions a manager can take when demand does not match the forecasted schedule. In particular, he explains the value of having available crosstrained employees, particularly in those situations when demand is uncertain. |
