Abstract: | According to Xiamen's strategies of industrial development, cooperation with Taiwan must be oriented to heavy and chemical industry, and is intended to develop light and textile industry that is relatively developed and capital- intensive, strengthen agricultural collaboration, construct advanced subtropical agricultural bases, and make the most of Xiamen's overall superiority's in the location and policies to improve cooperation in the tertiary industry. With Hongkong's return to China in 1997, the relations across the state and between the three regions will be re-established. Xiamen is to take advantages of its good geographical location to attract more investment from Taiwan. |
