Abstract:The industrial option is a basic topic of China's foreign direct investment. It has to do with the macro economic returns of one country's foreign economic activities and investors' micro economic gains. In the present stage in China, the criterion of the industrial option for foreign direct investment includes three levels, that is, the comparative advantages of regional position of industrial combination, the volume of domestic trade and the homogeneity of upgraded structure. The third one means that the establishment of international system of production of China's international corporations should aim at the investment which can play a direct encouraging role in the development of industrial structure towards upgrading and the industrial option for foreign direct investment should be subordinated to need of shift of economic growth mode.
