| Abstract: | The authors compare the pre- and postprivatization financial and operating performance of 85 companies from 28 industrialized couintries that were privatized through public share offerings in 1990-1996. They document increases in profitability, output, operating efficiency, and dividend payments - and decreases in leverage ratios. |
