| Abstract: | This article examines a question: What and where is money in today's banking and financial system? The study draws on the work of Susan Strange, who distinguished between the global financial system and the international monetary system. The study is a sociological elaboration of this distinction by examining finance and money categories in terms of distinctive orientation to risk and debt. |
