Abstract:The common law does not treat dealings with bulks in the same way as dealings with unascertained property. In the context of bulks, application of the general principles which govern the incidence of equitable interests suggests the following rules. A gift of part pf a bulk will never be effective in equity in advance of physical segregation of the relevant part. An agreement for sale may sometimes confer on the purchaser an equitable interest.
