Abstract:In view of disadvantages in confidence and anticipation of economic booming due to deflation and the continuous lowering of prices, some people suggested the implementation of "slight inflation" policy to stimulate economic growth. I don't think that's practical. As far as the goal of price policy is concerned, it is inappropriate to positively advocate even "slight" inflation. It is advisable to persist in the policy of keeping the overall price level generally stable. The policy of "low" inflation or "slight" inflation or "proper" inflation is unsuitable no matter the standard or the starting point and the stopping point is concerned.
