Abstract:This study explores the moderating effects of buying context on the relationship (henceforth as: r-ship.) btw. communication elements and the effort by buyers while searching for new suppliers via a buyer-supplier r-ship. development process. Based on a mail survey of the Institute for Supply Management(TM) members and moderated regression analysis on data, it is found among others that company size, buyer experience, r-ship. duration and r-ship. importance affect the association btw. a buyer's search effort and the communication elements etc.
