Abstract:An increasing number of private and public sector companies in the UK introduce stress management courses for their employees in an effort to deal with work related stress problems. These programs are usually concepted to teach employees to cope with stress, instead of handling the problem at the source. Results of a stress survey among people working in the offshore oil and gas industry showed that sources of stress varied as a function of employment, including the type of installation, the rig size and location, and actual status of the employee.
