Abstract:The chairman of Amnesty International's UK Business Group considers how oil companies have to change their attitudes in a world changing faster. "Silence or inaction will be seen to provide comfort to oppression and may be adjudged complicity." Sir Geoffrey Chandler CBE is a former senior executive of the Royal/Dutch Shell Group and architect of Shell's first Statement of General Business Principles.
