| Abstract: | An investigation carried out in three oil companies (Petrofina, Elf Aquitaine and Royal Dutch/Shell) proved that in a quickly changing environment there is no "only true" investment strategy. In their investment decisions enterprises are permanently confronted with the time factor - and investments are always more or less hazardous since there is no guarantee that tendencies prevailing in the moment of decision making remain unchanged. However, investors should not be fatalists - although not every single investment can be a success story, the future of an enterprise depends on the proportion of good investment decisions to total investments. |
