Abstract:This paper deals with funding issues facing arts and cultural resources worldwide. The British Museum in London is used as a case study. The paper's aims are i. to elicit individual preferences for future managerial initiatives with possible impact on visitors' willingness to financially support cultural resources through a voluntary contribution during the visit, and. ii. to combine observed and unobserved heterogeneity to explain a greater source of variation on individuals' decision-making process. Overall, provided are directions for government policy into widening and deepening participation for the arts and culture etc.
