Abstract:Newcomers to the study of European Community law are unlikely to remember the controversy aroused by the article by the late Dr. F. A. Mann, "Industrial Property and the EEC Treaty", published in January 1975. After a trenchant criticism of the decision of the European Court in Van Zuylen Freres v.
