| Abstract: | Committed to membership of European economic and monetary union (EMU) from the beginning, Luxembourg nevertheless recognises that the single currency will require change in its vital financial services industry. As Paul Meyers of Banque Generale du Luxembourg, chairman of the Luxembourg Bankers' Association (ABBL), said recently: "Luxembourg will dedicate itself increasingly to EMU. 1999 is not the end. It is a new beginning." |
