Abstract:This paper aims to develop a concept of corporate autonomy (CA) in order to analyze supplier-buyer relationships. Distinguished are three different facets: rule autonomy, executive autonomy, and control autonomy. The analysis is based on a case study of Mattel, Inc.'s problems with lead-contaminated toys produced in China.
