| Abstract: | Economic backwardness of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River is due to insufficient accumulation, extensive industrial structures, low-grade products, poor competitiveness, low degree of opening to the outside world. The most crucial determinant of rise of this region is the amount of investment. It depends on the investment of the central government in the middle reaches , the introduction of foreign funds and the formation of a sound self-accumulation mechanism. |
