Abstract:A strategic overview of trends in the European frozen food market is presented giving an assessment in the French, Italian, German and UK markets, and a summary of trends in the rest of Western Europe. Frozen juices and ice cream are excluded. Substantial growth in all European markets exists, led by increased penetration of freezers and microwave ovens. Ready meals and desserts have emerged as the two most dynamic sectors. Added-value products are increasingly emerging, with real value sales growing and volume growth reaches stasis. The four major markets are overviewed by statistical tables on retail, sales, volume sales, consumption data, manufacturers etc.
