| Abstract: | Despite its title, this book is not as much about understanding power and politics in the organization as it is about industrial democracy, and the question of why some organizations are more democratic than others. The author's view of industrial democracy appears to be very much a reaction to what he calls "Theoretical imperialism of economists". He views the book as a "minor counter- incursion against this onslaught." In Chapter 3 a number of diverse objectives are pursued, none very successfully. |
