| Abstract: | Anthony Giddens explores the set of processes involved in globalisation and draws a positive picture of a world of soft power. He thinks that we are indeed living through a period of really profound change. In the late 18th century too, we had big changes in the nature of the family, in the nature of the government, in the nature of the make up of the state, and in trans-national organisations. What is happening today is a similar institutional shake out. |
