Abstract:Most people find negotiation a fun, interesting and relevant topic, which makes teaching it easy. On the other hand, teachers sometimes underestimate the difficulties in getting the students to think and behave differently in negotiation, which can make it challenging to teach it well. This paper analyses three teaching challenges in particular: dealing with ethical issues, power imbalances (including those implicated by gender and race), and putting theory into practice in the form of real-world behaviour change.
