Abstract:The two primary competitive movements of the '80s - restructuring and globalization - shared common characteristics, and transformed the competitive playing field for companies and national economies alike. In the '90s, a dramatic convergence of demographic, technological, competitive and global forces will shift power from employers to employees, from the board room to the workplace, where value is added and wealth is created. Throughout North America, Europe and Japan, these forces will converge in a strikingly similar manner - the power of the '90s will be people-power.
