| Abstract: | Portfolio-investments have been the fastest growing form of external financing in the developing countries recently. They constitute about 20% of all the incoming capital in the third world. Although the investments are concentrated mainly on latin american countries, there is still a large potential in expanding the investments to other developing countries. In practice, the chances for small developing countries are quite limited due to lacking investment possibilities in general and because the investors have doubts on their national economic creditworthiness. |
