Abstract:It has been shown by research that many innovations originate in the user domain instead of the manufacturer. A new way for manufacturers to access innovative ideas and solutions from users are Internet-based toolkits for idea competitions (TIC). Following the idea of evolutionary prototyping, a TIC is developed in cooperation with a manufacturer of sports goods. The TIC was launched as a pilot in one of the company's markets. The consensual assessment technique was used to evaluate the submissions. The evaluation provides suggestions for further research etc.
