| Abstract: | Managers are facing a wide range of pressures right now, not least of which are: (1) the focus of lenders and investors on short-term performance and liquidity; (2) the challenge from competition for market share; (3) the need to protect the long-term health and success of their company by pursuing policies which may not realize financial results in the short term. The article offers a simple model which illustrates how these factors relate to each other; one that brings together the key factors in managing the business. |
