Abstract:The author considers to-day American economic policy. He analyses Clinton's major initiatives in economic policy- tax package and health care package. He reveals irrationality and wrongs in Glinton's tax policy in theory and practice. The health care President's initiative will assuredly harm the quality of the health care, but it's biggest impact may be on the American economy. The author also predicts the US economy likely to continue to stagnate in the next four years, though it is difficult to make meaningful predictions. It is therefore highly probable that the economy will, at best, stagger along with the weak job numbers and income growth that characterised the Bush years.
