| Abstract: | The question of national minorities, especially the Russian minority, was widely discussed in international circles at the beginning of the independence movement in the Baltic States. Now, when independence has been restored, it is again getting lots of international attention. One of the reasons for so much interest is the citizenship laws and the seconds is the language test. The fact is that the Baltic governments are under strong pressure from their own nationalist political parties. |
