Abstract:In this study retail buyers from the United States, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan responded to questions about their Procurement decision making. Attitudes and behaviours related to purchasing imported merchandise were compared. Buyers from the United States had the most positive attitudes about imported merchandise, yet purchased the second lowest percentage of imports (46 per cent). Buyers from Japan had the most negative views about imports and also purchased the lowest percentage of imported merchandise (14 per cent).
