| Abstract: | Senior executives from nine major chain retailers and thirty-one apparel manufacturers located across Canada were interviewed in depth to determine their approaches and heuristics regarding the sourcing for distribution of domestic and imported fashion apparel. A qualitative analysis of their scripts resulted in a hierarchy of themes pertaining to the functions within the informant organizations, functions related to product sourcing and the source selection process. |
