| Abstract: | While formerly the Japanese invested mainly in Europe and the USA, they are turning recently to Asia. Japanese investors get the huge mass markets there, leaving the Europeans and Americans behind. The yearly statistics of the Ministry for Trade and Industry /MITI/ revealed in Tokio, that in 1994 the volume of Japanese investments in Asia surpassed first time those in the USA and Europe allttogether. This is a shocking sign for the two continents, because they will badly miss the capital of Japanese investors. The author describes the ways Japanese investors are backed by development aid funds, and assesses the possible consequences of the new situation. |
