| Abstract: | This paper addreses the need for methods to evaluate investment alternatives in countries developing market economies.Such evaluation requires a framework for risk comparison across countries.We describe a Stages of Integration Model which provides such a framework.The Stages of Integration Model compares the interest rate trend in a particular country to an international baseline of developed market economies.From these comparisons, we determine a risk premium for a given country.The development of the model and an example of its application are described. |
