Abstract: | Many information systems are trapped in a downward spiral characterized by deteriorating relationships with users. These relationships consume valuable time and energy in resolving conflict, leaving fewer resources to work on actual service issues. The result is a state of hostility, conflictual actions, and lower productivity. Predictable forces in these situations can often be identified and used to map a major turnaround. While the process is difficult and requires a substantial commitment of time, energy and organizational change skill, the results in productivity morale and problem solving can be spectacular. |
