Abstract: | This paper tests hypotheses about female and male managers' compensation associated with external and internal labour market strategies, by evaluating a sample of 610 managers working in 20 Fortune 500 companies in a longitudinal study. It was hypothesized that managers' gender and labour market experience would affect their total cash compensation. The results show that only male managers had benefit from an external labor market strategy, and females using external labor market strategy didn't receive bigger compensation than those using an internal labor market strategy. |
