| Abstract: | Companies throughout the world are moving from just-in-case to just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing. This means that companies are moving from manufacturing resource planning (MRP-II), with its high levels of JIT inventories, to flow manufacturing. Flow manufacturing uses JIT policies and techniques to achieve improved customer responsiveness, greater efficiencies, lower inventory, and lower operating costs. |
