Abstract:This study constitutes a chapter in a book entitled Conquering Uncertainty. The approach uses the Voltera-Lotka equations to describe the competitive dynamics in a market niche occupied by competitors, all types of competition are considered. Examples demonstrate the possibility to alter the competitive roles by acting on the parameters of the equations. The study gives a methodology on how to guide and optimize advertising and image-building strategies. The S-curve model accounts for the most fundamental factors that shape growth: the attractiveness of one's offering, the size of its market niche, and the interaction with the competitor.
