| Abstract: | The paper states that on the basis of resource theory, the knowledge management capabilities of an enterprise can be classified into four "sub-capabilities". These are knowledge-codification, -transfer, -abstraction and - absorption. Enterprises with good knowledge processing capabilities, will be valued higher on the stock market, than firms which do not have such capabilities. The benefits of investing in the development of professional knowledge management, should thus be evaluated in terms of the resulting long-term impact on corporate value. The author provides a substantial list of references on this subject. |
