Abstract:This article examines geographic diversification and its effect to shareholder value. According to the authors of this article, geographic diversification improves companies long-term performance in situation when a company engage in core-related foreign direct investments. Foreign direct investments outside the core business of the firm means a loss in shareholder value. Core-related foreign direct investments increase value of the company.
