| Abstract: | This introductory deals with the central starting points and issues of this Special edition focusing on the evolutionary and historical processes in the forest industries in the 20th and early 21st centuries in the Nordic context. It is argumented that by analyzing a particular industry it is possible to move towards more interdisciplinary cooperation btw. business historians and organization theorists. This introductory article reviews the currrent literature, proposes several options for cooperation, outlines the basic characteristics of the Nordic forest industry, and discusses the related issues. |
